Thanks to everyone who supported the Green platform of Peace, Jobs & Justice; meantime profiteering war contractors & their lobbyists continue to control our lawmakers & it seems we'll remain bogged down in Iraq with deaths on all sides. The 24-hour anxiety and concern for the wellbeing of US servicemen & women continues for their family & friends. I continue to advocate the restoration of the tax on war profits which expired after WW II.

Several organizations--Between the Lines, Vote-Smart, & League of Women Voters-- practiced fairness in their Voter Guides by listing ALL candidates. (The League map incorrectly excluded Lapeer County & the northern Macomb County townships from my 10th Congressional District in the Thumb, so I've requested correction before the '08 elections!)

Unfortunately, despited the printed statement by Planned Parenthood Advocates that ALL candidates received their questionnaires, Sarah Scranton acknowledged to me that NO candidates for Federal offices could receive questionnaires as the publication is sponsored by the MICHIGAN organization, which is "forbidden" to include such candidates, that can only be listed and evaluated by the NATIONAL organization. However, the two MAJOR PARTY candidates for each Congressional office WERE listed in the Michigan publication I received from her, while totally excluding any of us 3rd party pro-choice candidates from any listing.

The National Organization for Women did send questionnaires but didn't publish them, although they do not officially exclude any mention of 3rd party candidates.

So we Greens continue to struggle to have our names & pro-woman positions mentioned by these organizations! I continue to follow the delays by Detroit Edison in connecting the Laker School wind turbines to the power grid and to oppose tax credits for relocating jobs overseas or any new moves to privatize Social Security. These efforts enjoy bipartisan support by the two major parties in Congress so we Greens have a big job ahead of us to inform trusting voters who are largely unaware of this! Keep on campaigning on our issues!
